Prabowo hands over six Rafale jets to TNI

President Prabowo Subianto symbolically handed over six Dassault Rafale fighter jets to the Indonesian National Armed Forces at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Monday, May 18, 2026.

The handover was carried out by presenting the aircraft keys to TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto. The event marks part of Indonesia's total procurement of 42 Rafale units purchased in stages from France.

The Rafale is built by Dassault Aviation and features specifications including a wingspan of 10.9 meters, length of 15.3 meters, and height of 5.3 meters. It is equipped with two Snecma M88-4E engines and can reach speeds of 1.8 Mach.

The Rafale's defense systems include SPECTRA technology and Thales RBE2 AA AESA radar. The price per unit is estimated at around 125 million US dollars depending on configuration.
