President Prabowo Subianto sent off the Indonesian contingent to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at Istana Negara, Jakarta, on Friday (December 5, 2025). Archery athlete Diananda Choirunisa and weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah shared their preparations and targets ahead of the event from December 9-20, 2025.
The send-off ceremony for the Indonesian contingent to the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand took place at Istana Negara, Central Jakarta, on Friday (December 5, 2025). President Prabowo Subianto attended in person to motivate the athletes competing in Southeast Asia's largest sporting event.
Archery athlete Diananda Choirunisa revealed that her preparations began in January 2025 through training camps and various competitions. "Persiapannya kita sudah mulai dari bulan Januari, jadi kita sudah mengikuti training camp dari bulan Januari dan mengikuti beberapa pertandingan single event di panahan," she said. The archery discipline will feature 10 events, with Diananda competing in three. She expressed gratitude for being sent off by the president and hopes to win three gold medals. "Ya sangat senang sekali ya, karena bisa langsung dilepas oleh Bapak Presiden. Dan harapan kami, semoga kami bisa memberikan yang terbaik ke SEA Games nanti," she added. Diananda also requested prayers from the Indonesian public for the national team to achieve the best results and become the overall champion.
Meanwhile, weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah, set to compete in the men's 79kg class, stated that his training has been optimal. "Untuk saat ini saya persiapan di SEA Games 2025 yang ke-33, dan alhamdulillah sampai saat ini, detik ini, saya masih berpotensi, dan saya masih bersemangat untuk latihan dan persiapan buat SEA Games nanti, dan insya Allah nanti SEA Games saya bisa tampil maksimal," he said. Rizki hopes to repeat his achievements from the Olympics and previous SEA Games. "Insya Allah saya berharap yang terbaik aja, saya bisa mengulangi prestasi saya yang di Olimpiade, yang di SEA Games sebelum-sebelumnya," said the TNI AL officer.
The 33rd SEA Games in Thailand runs from December 9-20, 2025, with Indonesia aiming for outstanding achievements across various sports.
