DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated his main focus is making capital residents' lives more comfortable through improved transport connectivity and flood control.
Pramono made the statement during the peak night of Jakarta's 499th anniversary at Bundaran HI on Saturday evening.
He mentioned plans to inaugurate LRT Jakarta Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai in August 2026, followed by extension to Dukuh Atas. Construction of the pedestrian deck at Dukuh Atas began on June 21, 2026, and is targeted for completion in 2028.
Pramono also revealed underground tunnel construction connecting buildings such as Pullman, Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, and Mandarin to Bundaran HI MRT Station, targeted for early 2027 completion. Additionally, normalization of the Ciliwung, Krukut Lama, and Cakung rivers is being resumed to reduce flood impacts.
