President Ruto pledges Ksh100 million to AIC church

President William Ruto has pledged Ksh100 million to the Africa Inland Church for projects in Marsabit County. The donation, announced during a church service, will support ongoing works in Ileret and complete construction at AIC Loglogo. This follows a recent Ksh50 million contribution to another church in Vihiga County.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, President William Ruto addressed congregants at a church service in AIC Loglogo, Marsabit County, where he pledged Ksh100 million to the Africa Inland Church (AIC). As a member of the church, Ruto specified that the funds would support ongoing projects in Ileret, a remote area in Marsabit County. "I went to visit some people in Ileret, and I know that there is a lot of work that is going on there, and since I'm a member and beneficiary of this church, I will look for Ksh100 million for you. You will just give me a list of what you will be doing there. Have you understood me, bishop?" Ruto said, directing church leaders in Marsabit to submit a summary of how the money would be utilized.

Ruto also committed to completing the construction of the AIC Loglogo church building, which requires an additional Ksh17 million. He assured that the project would be finished within the next two to three months. "There is a church construction that is ongoing here and I have been shown and I sent people for a harambee, but I have been told it is yet to be completed and I have been told that you are remaining with a deficit of Ksh17 million for the church to be completed, and I have already told the heads of the church that we will finish the church," he stated. Ruto added, "I have directed leaders in this region to ensure that they look for a contractor. The church will be completed in the next 2-3 months."

Emphasizing the importance of such donations, Ruto noted that they are essential for sustaining church work across Kenya and Africa, especially as churches increasingly rely on self-funding. "This will energise the momentum of the great work that has been done in 60 years. People came from far and started these churches, and it is now our time to continue with the work," he said.

This pledge comes two weeks after Ruto donated Ksh50 million to the African Divine Church for their Ksh80 million headquarters in Vihiga County. That contribution supplemented Ksh20 million raised by members, with the remaining Ksh10 million to be provided by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and local leaders to ensure timely completion. The new facility will include conference halls and offices.
