A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, held a convention on March 29, 2026.
Prominent PDP figures such as Saraki, Makarfi and Lamido arrived at the convention organised by the pro-Wike group, according to Daily Trust.
The faction re-elected Abdulrahman Mohammed as its national chairman.
