Queerties unveils 2026 nominations for LGBTQ+ media

Queerty has announced the nominees for its 14th annual Queerties Awards, celebrating the best in LGBTQ+ media, culture, and entertainment from 2025. Standouts include the series 'Heated Rivalry,' actors Jonathan Bailey and Cynthia Erivo, and musicians Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan. Public voting begins today and runs through mid-February.

The Queerties Awards, now in their 14th year, recognize excellence in queer representation across film, television, music, and more. Nominees were revealed on January 20, 2026, highlighting achievements from the previous year. Among the honorees are the hockey drama series 'Heated Rivalry' on Crave and HBO Max, which earned nods in the TV Drama category alongside 'The Last of Us,' 'Severance,' and 'The White Lotus.'

Film highlights feature multiple nominations for 'Wicked: For Good' from Universal Pictures, 'The Wedding Banquet' from Bleecker Street, 'The History of Sound' from Mubi, and 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' from Roadside Attractions. Performance categories spotlight Cynthia Erivo for 'Wicked: For Good,' Bella Ramsey for 'The Last of Us,' and Colman Domingo for 'The Four Seasons.' Music nominees include Chappell Roan for her anthem 'The Subway' and Lady Gaga for 'Abracadabra.'

"The Queerties gives voice to the LGBTQ+ community," said Scott Gatz, CEO of Q.Digital, Queerty’s parent company. "It’s the pop culture awards show where queer people honor the best of the best, voting for the talent and creatives who inspire and pave the way for the next generation of queer youth."

Fans can vote once per day per category starting January 20 through February 17. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles in March, with the host and additional honorees to be revealed soon. Last year's event, hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, attracted nearly two million votes, underscoring the awards' growing influence in queer pop culture.
