One survivor suffered critical injuries, and one of the vehicles caught fire following the impact. Authorities have closed the road temporarily to manage the scene and ensure safety. Law enforcement officers are present at the location. Mashudu Mabata, spokesperson for the Transport Department, provided diversion instructions for affected drivers. Motorists travelling from Polokwane should take the R71, which connects back to the R81 at Paledi Road. Those approaching from the R81 direction can turn off at Solomondale onto the R71. These measures aim to ease congestion while investigations proceed.
