The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has shifted its Monday meeting to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. The session is set to address a probe into donations, including claims about 900 kg of silver sent for testing.
The trust's decision follows recent allegations of donation misappropriation. Sources indicated that over 900 kg of silver received in donations was sent to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India in Hyderabad for purity checks and melting into bricks. The process, discussed in trust meetings in November 2024 and March 2025, cost around Rs 20 lakh and found about 90 per cent purity after impurities were removed.
Police are now verifying these claims along with other handling of offerings. A high-level security review took place about a month and a half ago, though concerns remain about security outside the counting room.
The Monday meeting, now relocated to the temple complex, is also expected to discuss pending resignations and future management. Some members plan to raise demands for a transparent system to handle precious donations and restore devotee trust.
