RAYE's 'Nightingale Lane' tops Billboard fan poll

RAYE's new single 'Nightingale Lane' has been voted the favorite new music of the week in Billboard's fan poll. The ballad received 43% of the votes, edging out BLACKPINK's DEADLINE EP. The track previews RAYE's upcoming sophomore album.

Fans voted in a Billboard poll published on Friday, February 27, selecting RAYE's just-released ballad 'Nightingale Lane' as their top fresh tune of the week. The poll closed on Sunday, with the song securing 43% of the votes. It outperformed other new releases, including BLACKPINK's DEADLINE EP in second place, Bruno Mars' album The Romantic, and Towa Bird's single 'Gentleman'.

'Nightingale Lane' serves as a preview of RAYE's sophomore album, This Music May Contain Hope, set for release on March 27 via Human Re Sources. The single's release included a video featuring a live performance backed by an orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.

In a press statement announcing the album, RAYE said: “I guess I’m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world.” She added: “I want us all to say to ourselves that it’s going to be all right, and I’m going to have faith in the seeds that I’ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed or soft place for that person who needs it.”

On Saturday, February 28, at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester, England, RAYE performed a medley combining 'WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!' with 'Nightingale Lane', showcasing her vocal range.
