Ripple acquires Palisade to boost institutional crypto payments

Ripple has acquired crypto wallet provider Palisade to enhance its institutional custody and payments offerings. The deal integrates Palisade's wallet-as-a-service platform into Ripple Custody, targeting banks and corporates handling digital assets. This marks Ripple's fourth acquisition this year amid growing stablecoin payments.

On November 3, 2025, Ripple, the blockchain technology firm associated with the XRP Ledger, announced its acquisition of Palisade, a crypto wallet and custody firm. The move aims to expand Ripple's institutional custody and payments business by adding fast, scalable wallet technology.

Palisade’s platform will be integrated into Ripple Custody, a product designed for banks and corporates managing digital assets, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. It provides tools for high-speed, high-frequency use cases, such as on- and off-ramps or enterprise payment flows, enabling secure wallets to be created and deployed quickly. The technology supports multiple blockchains and can interact with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

Ripple's strategy focuses on building a crypto-native alternative to traditional financial infrastructure, including cross-border payments, liquidity, and stablecoin issuance. The company holds over 75 regulatory licenses globally and supports banks like BBVA, DBS, and Societe Generale’s crypto division.

Monica Long, Ripple's president, highlighted the acquisition's fit in an interview: "Palisade offered the best set of capabilities to complement what we have built with Ripple Payments, which has been growing tremendously this year with stablecoin payment proliferation."

This is Ripple's fourth acquisition in 2025, following deals for prime broker Hidden Road (now Ripple Prime) for $1.25 billion, stablecoin infrastructure firm Rail for $200 million, and corporate treasury management platform GTreasury. It builds on the 2023 purchase of Swiss custody firm Metaco, strengthening Ripple's position in institutional crypto services.
