Sandford International School invites Ethiopian parents to apply for places in Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 classes for the 2026-2027 academic year. With expected high demand exceeding available spots, candidates will be selected via lottery for testing.

Sandford International School is opening admissions for national students in Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 classes for the 2026-2027 academic year. Ethiopian parents or legal guardians are invited to apply for the limited available places. Given that applications are likely to surpass the spots, a lottery draw will choose candidates for testing.

The lottery is scheduled for March 24, 25, or 26, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the school auditorium. Parents of selected applicants will receive notification and must fulfill all admission requirements, including payment, within the designated timeframe to secure their child's place.

To apply, parents need to obtain and fill out an application form from the school's Admission Office. A non-refundable fee of 2,000 ETB must be paid at the Finance Office. Completed forms with supporting documents should be submitted to the Admission Office by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026; no applications will be accepted after this deadline.

More than 100,000 people have signed up for Sweden's spring university entrance exam. As of the registration deadline on January 14, 100,742 individuals had enrolled, marking nearly an eight percent increase from last year. The exam will take place nationwide on April 18.

The Department of Education announced that early registration for public school students nationwide begins today and runs until February 27 for School Year 2026-2027. It covers entrants to Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11. This process helps schools assess expected enrollment and resource needs.

The 2026 academic year began across South Africa with a mix of joy and frustration on 14 January. While many pupils started school excitedly, thousands remained unplaced due to capacity issues, and some regions faced flooding and overcrowding. Parents voiced concerns over fees, infrastructure, and access in provinces including Gauteng, Limpopo, and the Eastern Cape.

As South African schools gear up to reopen on January 14, thousands of learners in Gauteng are still without placements, despite official claims that the situation is managed. The Gauteng Department of Education reported 4,858 unplaced Grade 1 and Grade 8 students on January 6, a reduction from 140,000 nationwide in December 2025. This ongoing issue highlights persistent challenges in education infrastructure and planning.
