Senior seriously injured in car crash in southern Hesse
A 74-year-old man was seriously injured in a car crash on a country road in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district. The vehicle of an 18-year-old spun out for unclear reasons and collided with oncoming traffic. The affected road was temporarily fully closed.
The accident occurred on the L3413 between Groß-Umstadt and Otzberg in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in southern Hesse. According to police, the 18-year-old driver's vehicle spun out for as yet unclear reasons and veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with another car.
The 74-year-old driver of the second vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. The young crash causer escaped with minor injuries, police reported. The exact cause of the spin is still under investigation.
