A youth project tackling online gaming addiction and a sports-tech startup took top honors on Wednesday at the EGYPES 2026 Youth Impact Ceremony, hosted by Shell Egypt and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The event recognized winners from Shell’s NXplorers and Intilaaqah programs.

In the NXplorers competition, the Will Power team secured first place for its project on gaming addiction, followed by the SOIL team in second, and Green Vision and Impact Makers in third.

In the Intilaaqah startup pitch, sports-tech firm Riadi took first for its digital sports services platform, with booking platform Bookit in second, and agri-tech Herbanol and sustainable materials startup Carbonera jointly third.

“Developing talent starts with giving people the tools to think differently and the space to apply those skills to real challenges,” said Dalia El Gabry, Vice President and Country Chair of Shell Egypt, noting that the programs translate learning into practical business models.

The ceremony also highlighted Egyptian universities' performance at the Shell Eco-marathon in Doha. Menoufia University placed second in the Data and Telemetry Award, Cairo University ranked fourth in Urban Concept and completed its first valid electric prototype run since 2019, while Helwan University secured sixth in ICE Urban Concept and 15th in Battery Electric Prototype.
