Subnautica 2 releases first major update adding stun ability

Unknown Worlds released the first major update for Subnautica 2 on July 8. The 1.1 patch, titled Adaptive Measures, introduces the ability to stun creatures using the Sonic Resonator.

The update arrived during the game's early access phase. It adds stun states for several creatures and improves flinching animations when players use the Survival Multitool. Creative director Anthony Gallegos said the changes address player feedback about defense while maintaining the game's non-violent approach to creatures.

Additional features include more BioMod stations, new abandoned BioMods, clearer signals from Blight creatures, and wreck improvements with light puzzles. The PDA received UI updates and now allows players to replay audio logs at will.

Future updates remain on the roadmap. Version 1.2 is expected some weeks after the current patch and will focus on multiplayer features such as proximity chat and player revive. A larger 2.0 content drop is scheduled later in the year.
