Spanish police have arrested a 30-year-old Swedish man in Orihuela who is wanted for serious violent crimes.
The arrest took place on 2 July on the open street in Orihuela in Alicante province. The man, who has lived in the area for several years, is suspected of instigating violent crimes and having links to organised crime.
Swedish police state that he has had a clear impact on crime in Stockholm. Investigation leader Christer Chernström said the arrest is important.
Spanish police conducted a house search and found electronic equipment. A higher court is now examining extradition to Sweden following a request from a Swedish prosecutor.
