Swedish peace group withdraws from festival after propaganda dispute

Svenska Freds is withdrawing from the planned Folkfest för fred och klimat in Lund. The decision follows accusations of Russian propaganda and means the municipality's funding will disappear.

The festival was scheduled to take place in Stadsparken in August. Several organizers have been accused of spreading Russian propaganda messages according to reports in Sydsvenskan.

Joanna Agetorp, one of the organizers, says they are not Russia friends. Despite this, Svenska Freds chooses to leave the event.

Previously, Lunds Fredskommitté and Kvinnor för fred withdrew after the same accusations. As a result, the municipality's financial support for the festival disappears.
