T-Mobile has launched a new Better Value unlimited phone plan aimed at families and small groups with three or more lines. Priced at $140 per month for three lines with AutoPay, it offers enhanced perks like more hotspot data and international roaming compared to similar plans. However, eligibility requires either switching carriers with at least two ports or five years of loyalty as an existing customer.
T-Mobile's Better Value plan enters a competitive market where its Essentials option starts at $90 monthly for three lines but lacks premium features. At $140 for three lines—matching the Experience More plan—the Better Value option includes unlimited 5G data, a five-year price guarantee, and two-year device upgrades.
Key differentiators include 250GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, far exceeding the 60GB on Experience More; speeds drop to 600kbps thereafter. For international travel, it provides 30GB of high-speed data in Mexico and Canada, plus 215 other countries, compared to 15GB in North America and 5GB elsewhere on the rival plan. The package also bundles T-Satellite service at no extra cost, which typically adds $10 to other plans except the top-tier Experience Beyond.
Streaming perks appeal to households: Netflix Standard with Ads and Hulu are included, with Apple TV available for $3 monthly. However, fine print limits access. New switchers need three or more lines and two eligible ports. Existing postpaid customers must have five years of tenure. Unlike some current plans that bundle taxes and fees, Better Value adds them separately.
Available via the T-Life app or T-Mobile.com, the offer skips in-store sign-ups. T-Mobile calls it limited-time, but a spokesperson confirmed no set end date, positioning it to attract group plans and poach from competitors.
