Tere Ishk Mein collects Rs 60 crore in four days

Aanand L Rai's romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, featuring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has amassed Rs 60.25 crore at the domestic box office after four days. Despite a sharp decline on Monday, the film has outperformed several past releases by its director and stars.

The film opened strongly on its first day, earning Rs 16 crore. Collections rose slightly to Rs 17 crore on Saturday, then peaked at Rs 19 crore on Sunday, marking the highest single-day figure. However, Monday brought a more than 50% drop, with Rs 8.25 crore added to the tally.

According to Sacnilk data, the total stands at Rs 60.25 crore, predominantly from the Hindi version at Rs 58 crore, while the Tamil dubbed edition contributed Rs 2.25 crore. This performance has eclipsed the lifetime domestic earnings of Raanjhanaa, the 2013 collaboration between Rai and Dhanush, which ended at Rs 60.22 crore after eight weeks. It also exceeds Rai's 2022 directorial Raksha Bandhan, which grossed Rs 48.63 crore, and Dhanush's recent Tamil film Idli Kadai at Rs 50.48 crore across versions.

Yet, Tere Ishk Mein trails Kriti Sanon's previous theatrical outing, the 2023 comedy Crew, which reached Rs 81.70 crore. The movie has dominated its competition, leaving Gustaakh Ishq with just Rs 1.36 crore over the same period.

Produced by Colour Yellow Productions with music by AR Rahman and story by Himanshu Sharma, the film draws from the Raanjhanaa universe. It faces new challengers like Dhurandhar next week. Rai, Dhanush, and Rahman reunite following their earlier projects Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re.
