The Dandy Warhols announce covers album Pin Ups

The Dandy Warhols have revealed details of their new covers album, Pin Ups, due out on March 20, 2026. The release compiles reinterpretations, deep cuts, and previously unreleased recordings of songs by influential artists. A new single, their take on Violent Femmes' Kiss Off, is available now.

The Portland-based band The Dandy Warhols announced Pin Ups on January 6, 2026, describing it as a collection that traces their musical influences across decades. Rather than a standard covers project, the album gathers tracks scattered across B-sides, tribute albums, and private archives into a unified release spanning three sides on vinyl.

The tracklist features reinterpretations of songs by artists including The Runaways (Cherry Bomb), Gang Of Four (What We All Want), The Cure (Primary), Violent Femmes (Kiss Off), The Cramps (Goo Goo Muck), The Cult (Rain and She Sells Sanctuary), The Clash (Straight To Hell), America (Sister Golden Hair), Bob Dylan (Lay Lady Lay), The Grateful Dead (Ripple), The Byrds (Easy Chair), The Beatles (Blackbird), Marilyn Manson (The Beautiful People), The Damned (Love Song), New York Dolls (Jet Boy), and Love And Rockets (Inside The Outside).

Keyboardist Zia McCabe shared her enthusiasm: “We’ve been talking for years now about getting as many of the covers we’ve done for specific territories together and releasing them for all to hear. It’s finally happening.” She highlighted the lead single: “I’m especially excited that we’re releasing our cover of 'Kiss Off' for the first time. I can’t believe this gem has just been sitting on a hard drive for years.”

Vocalist Courtney Taylor-Taylor noted the personal ties: “Nearly every band we cover on here are friends of ours or artists we have had a meaningful experience with.” Guitarist Peter G. Holmström added, “These are some of our favourite songs, or songs by our favourite bands, or just songs we admired.” Taylor-Taylor reflected, “For reminiscing, this record is one of my favourites.”

This follows the band's acclaimed 2024 album Rockmaker, featuring guests like Slash, Frank Black, and Debbie Harry, and its 2025 companion Rock ReMaker. The group, consisting of Taylor-Taylor on vocals and guitar, Holmström on guitar and keyboards, McCabe on keyboards, bass, and percussion, and Brent DeBoer on drums and backing vocals, has also collaborated with The Oregon Symphony, which Taylor-Taylor called transformative.

Pin Ups will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats, with an exclusive vinyl pre-order on the band's Bandcamp page.
