The Game Awards 2025 to stream on Amazon Prime Video

The Game Awards 2025 will make its debut on Amazon Prime Video this December, expanding its reach beyond traditional free platforms. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event will feature game announcements, awards, and presentations from stars of Amazon's Fallout series. The show airs live from Los Angeles on December 11.

Event Overview

The Game Awards, an annual celebration of the video game industry since 2014, is set to broaden its audience with a new streaming partnership. For the first time, the 2025 edition will live stream on Amazon's Prime Video alongside its established platforms like YouTube, Twitch, X, and TikTok. This additive deal ensures the show remains accessible on free services while tapping into Prime Video's global reach.

Date and Location

The event airs live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on December 11, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. PT (8-11 p.m. ET). It will include world premieres, major game announcements, musical performances, and awards for the year's best games and creators. Stars from Amazon's Fallout TV series, ahead of its second season debut next month, are slated to present.

Streaming Enhancements

Twitch viewers will experience the show in 2K (1440p) resolution for the first time, enabling creators to re-broadcast it. Watching 30 minutes or more on Twitch unlocks Twitch Drops, including exclusive in-game content and a limited-edition chat badge. Amazon will also launch a dedicated merch shop and offer Prime-exclusive deals on nominated games, new releases, and hardware during the broadcast.

Insights from Producers

Geoff Keighley, creator and CEO of The Game Awards, emphasized the partnership's non-disruptive nature. "It’s important people know it doesn’t change our show at all. We’re still making the same show," Keighley told Variety. He highlighted the goal of reaching a wider audience: "Our vision is to take it to as many people as possible around the world and share the magic of games."

Executive producer Kimmie Kim reflected on the evolution of streaming awards: "It’s funny to me... everybody is like, ‘Oh, an online show.’ Cut to years later, that’s a trend — a lot of awards shows getting onto Amazon, Hulu and Peacock."

The 2024 show reached over 154 million livestreams, and this expansion aims to build on that success without altering the event's core format.
