Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is projected to earn $20 million on Tuesday following a record-setting global opening weekend of nearly $265 million.
The film is on track for the best Tuesday of Nolan's career at the domestic box office. It also ranks as the second-highest Tuesday this year behind Toy Story 5.
Analysts forecast a second-weekend gross between $61 million and $74 million. This range could surpass the second weekends of Nolan's previous Dark Knight films.
Universal Pictures secured the project after outbidding Warner Bros. and others. Chairman Donna Langley played a key role in attracting the director five years ago.
The movie stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland and Zendaya. It holds all IMAX and PLF screens heading into its second weekend.
