Emma Grede, CEO of Good American and founding partner of Skims, celebrated the launch of her debut book 'Start With Yourself: A New Vision for Work & Life' at a private party hosted by Tory Burch. Co-hosts Fabiola Beracasa Beckman and Diane von Furstenberg welcomed guests to Burch's Upper East Side home. Grede expressed pride in her accomplishment amid fashion and media figures.
Tory Burch opened her Upper East Side home for an intimate gathering honoring Emma Grede's new book. Joined by co-hosts Fabiola Beracasa Beckman and Diane von Furstenberg, the event drew Grede's inner circle from fashion, media, and business. Guests including Gayle King, Huma Abedin, Joseph Altuzarra, June Ambrose, Sophia Bush, and Ego Nwodim mingled over cocktails, caviar, and hors d'oeuvres served on silver platters with hand-painted floral wine glasses from Burch's collection. Candle-lit rooms in tangerine and chartreuse tones overlooked Central Park, with many attendees wearing Burch and DVF designs. Grede, a London native and mother of four, circulated elegantly, telling Vogue, “There’s just so many people here that I love—people that I met during my agency days... It feels like the culmination of a lot of work and a lot of years in the industry.” She later joked to the crowd, “If anybody had told me 15 or 20 years ago that I would be standing here amongst these three incredible women, I would have just gone, ‘Yeah….probably.’” Stylists Elizabeth Saltzman and June Ambrose posed with copies of the book, praising Grede's impact. Lynette Nylander, Harper’s Bazaar executive digital director, noted the pair's enduring dynamic from their early days working together. Burch praised Grede's energy, saying, “Emma... has such a contagious energy. She makes people feel like they can do anything.” She added that Grede's message of trusting instincts resonates, especially for entrepreneurs facing doubts. The event follows a Los Angeles party hosted by Rachel Zoe and Aurora James last week, with Grede's nationwide book tour starting soon, featuring Martha Stewart, Tracee Ellis Ross, and others, plus a London trip.
