Epic Games has launched a Toy Story collaboration in Fortnite, featuring bundles for Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg available from today. The crossover includes a Pizza Planet delivery car and a three-eyed alien sidekick. Although Woody was rumored to appear, he has not been included in the initial release.
The Toy Story x Fortnite collaboration was officially announced on April 8 through a teaser video showing Buzz Lightyear driving a customized Pizza Planet delivery car. Starting April 10, players can purchase two bundles: one for Buzz Lightyear and one for Emperor Zurg. Each bundle provides a unique emote, special back blings, pickaxe weapons, and skins, along with access to the Pizza Planet car and the three-eyed alien as a sidekick. Epic Games confirmed these details in the announcement, marking another blockbuster tie-in for the battle royale game. The collaboration follows leaks from March that suggested Woody would join Buzz and Zurg, but Epic has not revealed any plans for the cowboy character yet. One Reddit user expressed disappointment, asking, “How do you do Toy Story without Woody.” Fans speculate that Woody, Jesse, and Bo Peep could appear in a second wave timed to the release of Toy Story 5 on July 19, 2026. This crossover comes amid challenges at Epic Games, which last month laid off more than 1,000 staff and scrapped three games due to declining Fortnite engagement since 2025. A company statement noted, “The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025 means we’re spending significantly more than we’re making, and we have to make major cuts.”
