Tunisia U17 crushes Fiji 6-0 in FIFA U-17 World Cup debut

Tunisia U17 secured a dominant 6-0 victory over Fiji U17 in their opening match of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Aspire Zone in Doha. The North Africans topped Group D with a clinical performance, while Fiji marked their historic debut despite the heavy defeat. Goals came from multiple scorers in a one-sided affair.

Fiji made their first-ever appearance at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, facing a formidable Tunisia side in Group D on November 3, 2025. The match, held at the Aspire Zone in Doha, saw the Fijians start with composure, absorbing early pressure from Tunisia. Goalkeeper Melvin Prakash and the Fiji defense held firm initially, but Tunisia broke through in the 30th minute via a swift counterattack down the left, with Wassim Slama opening the scoring.

Six minutes later, Fedi Tayechi doubled the lead from another flank move, making it 2-0 at halftime. After the break, Fiji showed resilience and determination, nearly pulling one back when Tukai Ravonakula's volley was saved by the Tunisian goalkeeper. However, Tunisia's intensity grew, and Slama added his second in the 53rd minute.

The North Africans continued their dominance with goals from Anisse Saidi in the 74th minute and Saifeden Haj Abdallah in the 80th, before Tayechi sealed the win with a late strike in the 86th. Despite the 6-0 scoreline, Fiji displayed moments of promise and tireless defending against sustained pressure.

Tunisia's victory positions them at the top of Group D, while Fiji will look to recover in their next match against Belgium on Friday (NZT). The result highlights Tunisia's attacking precision in the tournament opener.
