World's top padel players to face off in Abu Dhabi exhibition

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, the world's top-ranked padel duo, will compete against each other for the first time in a one-night exhibition match in Abu Dhabi. The event at Space42 Arena features Coello partnering with Jorge Nieto against Tapia and Federico Chingotto. Fans have a rare chance to see the split of the dominant partnership.

The Ultimate Padel Match is set for February 18 at Space42 Arena in Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi. This exhibition pits Arturo Coello, paired with Jorge “Coki” Nieto, against Agustín Tapia and Federico Chingotto. It marks the first instance where Coello and Tapia, the joint FIP World No. 1 players, will play on opposing sides, diverging from their usual partnership.

Coello and Tapia have established themselves as the most successful duo in modern professional padel. They boast over a 90% match win rate, a 47-match winning streak, and thirteen titles in 2025, including multiple major championships. Nieto, ranked World No. 7, notably ended their record-breaking run at the 2024 Premier Padel Finals and joins Coello for this event. Chingotto, an Argentine World Champion and World No. 3, brings his renowned defensive style and court coverage to team with Tapia.

The matchup is not part of the professional tour calendar, offering a unique head-to-head encounter. “Bringing the world’s No. 1 players to compete head-to-head in Abu Dhabi is a significant moment for the sport locally,” said Mohamad Yehya, General Manager of Space42 Arena. “Padel has grown rapidly across the UAE, and this exhibition gives fans the opportunity to experience the highest level of the game live.”

This event underscores Abu Dhabi's role as a burgeoning sports hub in the region. The UAE capital hosts major international events year-round, drawing top athletes and audiences across various disciplines.
