ActionSA calls for probe into Mahlaba death

ActionSA in KwaZulu-Natal has called for a thorough police investigation into the death of ANC provincial legislator Ntuthuko Mahlaba, who was struck by a vehicle while jogging in Newcastle on Saturday morning.

ActionSA Provincial Chairperson Zwakele Mncwango described Mahlaba as both a political opponent and a personal friend. He expressed shock at the incident and urged authorities to examine whether it was an accident or involved other factors.

"As ActionSA in KwaZulu-Natal we would like to send our condolences to the Mahlaba family and the ANC. We are still shocked; we are still confused as to what really happened," Mncwango said.

The ANC KZN also issued a statement mourning the passing of the former MEC for Human Settlements. Mahlaba served as a member of the Provincial Task Team and the Provincial Legislature.
