Adult DVD announces self-titled debut album with new single

Leeds dance-punk band Adult DVD has announced its self-titled debut album and shared the single Cowboy on Aisle Three. The 12-track record is set for release on September 25 via Fat Possum Records.

The rising group, which previously issued EPs Fountain of Youth in 2023 and Next Day Shipping in 2024, described the album as containing witty observational songwriting and a pulsating synth-punk sound.

Frontman Harry Hanson said the new single originated from an idea formed while shopping at Lidl. He explained the track addresses an existential crisis with the line about imagining going nuts to avoid the big shop.

A black-and-white music video for the song was filmed at the New Burley Club in Leeds. The band is scheduled to appear at festivals including Latitude, Truck, Green Man, End of the Road and Psych Festival this summer.

A full UK and Ireland headline tour follows in October and November, with dates in Cardiff, Bristol, Sheffield and other cities.
