Aerocivil expects 914000 travelers for Independence Holiday

Colombia's civil aviation authority projects 914000 air passengers during the July 20 holiday bridge.

The Transport Ministry anticipates a 4.5% rise compared with 874960 travelers recorded last year. Domestic flights will account for most movement with 549064 passengers, while international flights will total 365549.

Authorities scheduled two airspace closures for the aerial review. The first occurred on Saturday between 10 and 11 a.m., and the second will take place on Monday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Aerocivil stated that the estimates rest on historical commercial flight patterns. It advised passengers to stay in contact with their airlines for possible itinerary changes.
