Akhilesh Yadav posted a 4-minute-40-second video on social media. It depicts a deserted Ayodhya and a donation box. Through the video he targeted the government.
The case surfaced on 5 June 2026. On 13 June Yogi Adityanath formed an SIT. Police raided the homes of seven accused and recovered Rs 80 lakh.
The RSS issued a statement on 3 July calling for unity. Congress criticised the RSS statement. Investigators are also examining the role of the temple trust and security agencies.
