Alabama father fatally shot in Walmart cart dispute

Stephen Morrow, an Alabama father, was killed in a parking lot after an argument over a shopping cart at a Walmart in Sumiton. Police arrested 18-year-old Timothy Braden Crawford and charged him with murder.

The incident began when Morrow accidentally bumped into a teenager with his cart inside the store. A verbal confrontation followed, after which Morrow called Sumiton Police and continued shopping with his wife Kayla.

Crawford later followed the couple outside. Authorities say he shot Morrow during a second confrontation in a nearby parking lot. Morrow told his wife, "Kayla, I'm dying and I love you," as he lay bleeding, according to her Facebook post.

Crawford fled in his truck but was tracked to his parents' home, where he turned himself in. Video evidence contradicted his claim of self-defense. He was held on a $250,000 bond in Walker County.

Crawford's parents testified in court that he has dyslexia and is on the autism spectrum. Prosecutors argued he posed a danger to the community.
