Alexander Bublik admits giving up on Grand Slam wins

Alexander Bublik has said other players including himself have given up trying to beat Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz at Grand Slams. The Kazakh player made the comments in a recent interview with Tennis Magazine.

Bublik stated that at Grand Slams Sinner and Alcaraz are at their best and perfectly prepared. He added that a Grand Slam victory now seems almost unattainable when both are fit.

The 29-year-old explained that his goals have changed. Quarterfinals or semifinals would now leave him happy.

Bublik has faced Sinner eight times and Alcaraz once. He holds one win against Sinner from Halle but lost their other meetings.

He also noted that Novak Djokovic remains the exception among top players for making deep Grand Slam runs.
