Ariana Grande teases Eternal Sunshine tour at Critics Choice Awards

Ariana Grande provided an update on her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour during the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles. She shared details on her preparations while keeping specifics under wraps to surprise fans. The tour, spanning two albums, is set to begin next June.

Ariana Grande attended the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, where she spoke to E! News on the red carpet about her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine tour. "I’ve been working on the set list for months now," she said. "It’s in a good place, but we’ll never know until we get into the rehearsals — which are starting very soon — and we put things on their feet if it’ll make sense or not."

When pressed for more details, Grande remained elusive. "I want to let it be a surprise," she explained. Regarding whether touring changes her, she added, "I think it’s the same person. I am grateful to work and I’m excited for the tour."

The tour schedule begins next June with two shows in Oakland, California, followed by performances in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena and Kia Forum. Stops include Austin; Sunrise, Florida, Grande's hometown; Atlanta; Brooklyn; Boston; and Montreal. The U.S. leg ends with two nights at Chicago’s United Center on August 3 and 5, before heading overseas for five nights at London’s O2 arena.

Similar to her 2019 Sweetener world tour, this outing will cover Eternal Sunshine and the 2020 album Positions. Earlier this year, on the Zach Sang Show, Grande joked about the decision: "I think that I was buying myself time — I didn’t want to do that... I’m kidding."

In a November interview on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, she indicated this might be her last tour for a while. "The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up," she said. "I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful... ‘One last hurrah!’"

Following the tour, Grande will appear in the fourth Meet the Parents film, Focker In-Law, alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo.
