Casey McQuiston teased details about the upcoming Red, White & Royal Wedding movie during an appearance at Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest. The author described the sequel as a couple degrees spicier than the 2023 original.
McQuiston, who co-wrote the script, said the film shows more of Alex and Prince Henry’s domestic life now that they are together.
“I would say it is a couple degrees spicier than the first movie,” McQuiston stated. “The intimacy is kind of dialed up in a way that is really beautiful and really fun to watch.”
The sequel, based on McQuiston’s 2019 novel, was announced in May 2024. Production wrapped recently, with Matthew López, Gemma Burgess and McQuiston writing the screenplay and Jamie Babbitt directing.
Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine return in the lead roles, alongside producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and others.
