Early Saturday morning, security forces detained Javier Gabriel “N”, alias “La Piruja”, in Mexicali, a suspected high-ranking member of a Sinaloa-linked criminal structure. The operation led to the seizure of weapons, drugs, and vehicles. The detainee faces federal investigation for his role in regional criminal activities.
In a coordinated operation in rural Mexicali, specifically at kilometer 57, agents from the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) and elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), supported by local and federal agencies, captured Javier Gabriel “N”, known as “La Piruja”. This individual was on the priority target list of the Peace Table due to his alleged closeness to the main leaders of a Sinaloa-based criminal organization operating in Baja California and Sonora.
The detainee was traveling armed with another subject, both placed at the disposal of the General Prosecutor's Office (FGR) for corresponding investigations. During the action, authorities seized two .223 caliber long weapons, three fragmentation grenades, ballistic vests, magazines, cartridges, about 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,400 doses of marijuana, and two recent-model vehicles, one armored.
According to follow-up information, “La Piruja” mainly operated from Sonora and had recently arrived in Baja California to control criminal areas in the Mexicali Valley. The FGR will handle the case to conduct ballistic analyses and determine the legal status of those involved, identified as generators of violence within and beyond the state.
