Band-Maid released the single “ENERGETIC” on June 24 as its first output of 2026. The band also confirmed a short break from live shows in 2027 after completing the European leg of its world tour.
The group returned to Japan after performing in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and London, plus Download Festival in the United Kingdom. Members described strong audience response despite a seven-year gap since the previous European dates.
“ENERGETIC” features a four-on-the-floor beat designed to encourage dancing at shows. Guitarist Kanami said the track was written with 2026 performances in mind, while vocalist Saiki noted it offers a positive outlook ahead of the upcoming separation from fans.
The band paired the upbeat track with “Days,” a song introduced in April that addresses the planned 2027 pause. Bassist Misa and drummer Akane explained their instrumental choices were made to support the emotional tone of the lyrics.
Guitarist and vocalist Miku Kobato added board-game imagery to the artwork and lyrics to reflect the group’s history and future plans. The members said they aim to create memorable experiences with audiences before the break begins.
