The Arizona Cardinals have secured their starting quarterback by agreeing to a restructured deal with veteran Jacoby Brissett. The new terms boost his 2026 compensation to $15.5 million guaranteed and up to $21 million with incentives.
The agreement modifies the second year of Brissett's existing two-year contract but adds no additional years. The 33-year-old remains set to enter free agency after the 2026 season.
Brissett skipped most of the team's offseason program while seeking the new deal. He has since joined practices but has not participated in 11-on-11 drills. Coach Mike LeFleur expressed confidence in Brissett's grasp of the offense despite the absence.
"He's a smart dude, he's played a lot of football," LeFleur said. "It's learning a whole different language. I'm not going to put any kind of (timeline) on that. ... I like where he's at from a learning standpoint."
Brissett started 12 games last season after replacing an injured Kyler Murray and will open the 2026 campaign as the starter. The Cardinals begin their schedule on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 13.
