The Yellow Alert was activated in the boroughs of Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztapalapa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, Tláhuac, Tlalpan, and Xochimilco, forecasting up to 29 millimeters of rain. The State of Mexico expects 25 to 50 millimeters, while the capital anticipates 5 to 25 millimeters.
These conditions are part of a broader pattern involving a dry line and a high-level trough, causing heavy rains in states like Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, with up to 75 millimeters in isolated areas.
The forecast indicates rains will continue at least until Thursday, April 16, with maximum temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius, contrasting earlier warnings from the Metropolitan Environmental Commission about prolonged heat waves.
