Initially, Estadio Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, was considered but ruled out after technical inspections. Paraguay, experienced in hosting events like the Copa Libertadores and Copa América, provides a reliable alternative.
Lanús, coached by Mauricio Pellegrino, seeks its second Sudamericana title after winning in 2013 against Ponte Preta under Guillermo Barros Schelotto. The Argentine side topped Group G with 12 points, ahead of Vasco da Gama, Melgar, and Puerto Cabello. In the knockout stages, they ousted Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero on penalties, Fluminense in the quarterfinals, and Universidad de Chile in the semifinals with a 3-2 aggregate.
Atlético Mineiro, led by Jorge Sampaoli, reaches its first Sudamericana final. They finished second in Group H behind Cienciano, above Caracas and Deportes Iquique. Tickets will be available from October 31 to November 4. The champion will receive 6.5 million USD—half a million more than in 2024—and direct qualification to the 2026 Copa Libertadores group stage, while the runner-up gets 2 million USD.
