Cybertruck owner addresses head injuries from sharp frunk corners

A Tesla Cybertruck owner from California has shared his frustration over repeatedly hitting his head on the truck's sharp frunk edges, sometimes causing bleeding. He discovered an affordable Amazon product to cover the corners after losing the original protective pieces. Other owners reported similar issues and expressed interest in the solution.

Robert, a 6-foot-tall Cybertruck owner from California, described his ongoing problem with the truck's sharp frunk corner on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. He explained that when the frunk is open at an easy entry height, he frequently hits his head while walking around the corner. 'I can't be the only one who constantly hits my head on the sharp corner of the frunk,' he wrote. 'Sometimes enough to bleed. I usually blame Isaac, but it's not his fault, and he's my best friend.'

The truck initially came with small plastic pieces to cover the sharp corners and prevent such injuries. However, Robert lost one within the first two months and the second soon after. 'When the Cybertruck was new, it had a small plastic piece on the corner to prevent head damage,' he noted. 'I lost one within the first 2 months. I thought, ‘I need to take pictures and work on a 3D model,' but before I could, I lost the second one.' After these losses, he sustained multiple head injuries.

To resolve the issue, Robert found a $5.99 protective corner guard on Amazon, originally designed for car doors to prevent scratches and bumps. The product description states: 'Protective Function: This product guards the corners of your car door against scratches and bumps during everyday use, especially when parked in tight spaces or when opening and closing doors frequently. It helps extend the life of the door and keeps the appearance of the bodywork looking good.' He shared photos showing the triangular rubber/plastic covering fitted to the frunk edge, which removes two sharp edges. 'Frunk sharp corner solution. No more headbangers!' he posted. 'Well, I just found a replacement. It's on Amazon, of course, and it's affordable.'

Other owners echoed his experience. Phil from New Jersey commented, 'I have hit my head on the corners so many times I can't even count, probably because I have brain damage from repeated blows.' Ace from Arizona added, 'You know what, my kids have hit their heads more than once on the tailgate edge corner when it’s open. Wonder if these would fit there too?' Danny from California, who is 5'10", said, 'Thank you so much. I'm 5'10" and got my bell rung on that corner as well. I'm ordering this immediately.' Several owners appreciated the DIY fix for the potentially hazardous sharp edges.
