Egypt launches mobile app for real estate tax services

Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced the launch of Egypt's first mobile application for real estate tax services on 15 June 2026. The app allows citizens to file returns, make payments and apply for exemptions digitally.

The new application enables property owners to submit tax returns for multiple units in a single filing. It also supports advance payments, settlement of liabilities and electronic applications for exemptions on primary family residences.

Kouchouk stated that the exemption threshold for a family's main residence has been raised to properties valued below EGP 8m. Late payment penalties will be waived if the principal amount is settled by 2 October.

Assistant Minister Ramy Youssef added that all appeals filed by the Real Estate Tax Authority will be withdrawn. Taxpayers may also pay in instalments through electronic methods.
