Eric Bischoff described how WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes helped him adjust during his first days at WCW. The comments came during an episode of the "83 Weeks" podcast.
Bischoff said his initial $70,000 annual contract as an announcer felt like a major step up after leaving the AWA.
He recalled the culture shock of moving to facilities at the CNN Center in Atlanta, noting the post-production setup seemed advanced at the time.
"Dusty kind of took me under his wing," Bischoff said. "He kept an eye out for me and he tried to smarten me up as best he could. Dusty was my boss, so developing that relationship with Dusty was a big part of that first event."
Rhodes joined WCW's booking team in 1991 after prior work in the territories and WWF.
