Falu Energi och Vatten keeps effect fee despite government urging

Falu Energi och Vatten chooses to retain the effect fee even though the government urged grid companies to remove it.

The company introduced the fee in November 2025. It is based on electricity usage peaks on weekdays between 07.00 and 19.00 from November to March.

Markus Åkerberg at Falu Energi och Vatten says the model is fairer and has reduced peaks in the grid. More than half of customers now pay less per year.

The government halted mandatory effect fees in March 2026. Energy Minister Ebba Busch argued they had hit households hard without improving network use. Falu Energi och Vatten states revenues have fallen and the requirement was only removed, not banned.
