Ferrari has pursued frequent updates to its SF-26 car during the 2026 season, securing victories in Spain and Great Britain. Rival teams say they lack the resources and processes to match that approach.
Ferrari has delivered multiple performance packages on the SF-26 this year. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc each claimed a win, one in Spain and one in Great Britain.
Team principal Fred Vasseur said the upgrades are often smaller modifications rather than large steps. He noted it is preferable to add performance early in the season rather than late.
Williams team principal James Vowles stated that his team cannot match the pace of development seen at Ferrari or other top squads. He cited gaps in supplier networks, established processes and available funds that require years to close.
Aston Martin chief trackside officer Mike Krack explained that any upgrade program must be planned well in advance. The team plans a larger package for the Hungarian Grand Prix rather than weekly changes.
