Fire in Trollhättan industrial building during VMA

The fire alarm came in just after 8 PM in an industrial building located in Trollhättan's industrial area. According to the rescue service, the building was empty at the time of the fire, preventing any injuries. The incident commander on site described the situation as serious: 'It's a powerful fire that has spread quickly in the building,' he told Aftonbladet. The flames ravaged a premises used for industrial activities, with thick smoke rising over the city, visible from the E45 highway. The VMA event, a local music and culture festival, was ongoing nearby, but no initial impact on attendees was reported.
The rescue service worked intensively to extinguish the fire using multiple hoses and a turntable ladder to reach the roofs. By 10 PM, the fire was under control, but mopping-up operations are expected to continue late into the night. Police cordoned off the area to secure the site and investigate the circumstances of the fire, which is preliminarily assessed as an accident.
