An electrical fault in Pålsboda on Saturday evening caused major delays to train services. Among those affected were hundreds of youths returning home from the Gothia Cup in Göteborg.
The chartered train had been scheduled to reach Stockholm shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday. It instead arrived at 4 a.m. after remaining stationary in Hallsberg for several hours.
SJ expressed regret over the delays. The company confirmed that the travel guarantee applies to all passengers on the affected high-speed trains, according to Daniel Vesterlund Hamrén at SJ's press service.
Train traffic between Hallsberg and Katrineholm was restricted to 40 kilometres per hour overnight due to the fault, P4 Örebro reported.
