Father-daughter duo Fyütch and Aura V have secured a nomination for Best Children’s Music Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards for their project Harmony. A win would make 8-year-old Aura the youngest individual Grammy winner in history. The nomination celebrates their collaborative work focused on joy, positivity, and family themes.
The Grammy Nomination
Fyütch, a music educator and artist, and his 8-year-old daughter Aura V were nominated in the Best Children’s Music Album category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. The announcement came via a text from Fyütch's agent, which he shared with Aura by picking her up from school and playing the official video at home. Despite initial reluctance to leave a school party, Aura's excitement was evident once she learned the news.
If victorious, Aura would surpass previous young winners like Leah Peasall, who was 8 during her group's 2002 Grammy for the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, and Blue Ivy Carter, who won at age 9 with Beyoncé. LeAnn Rimes holds the record for youngest individual winner at 14. 'It would just be awesome to get that award and for her to be the youngest solo winner,' Fyütch told American Songwriter.
Background on the Duo
Fyütch began creating music for his students as a teacher, with videos gaining viral traction on YouTube. Aura, inspired from age 5, joined in, leading to their official collaboration. This marks Fyütch's second Grammy nomination, following one with 1 Tribe Collective, but his first red carpet experience. 'This is a totally new experience,' he said, emphasizing the joy of sharing it with Aura.
Details on Harmony
The album Harmony originated from an educational commission and evolved into a family project emphasizing affirmations, empathy, and unity. 'There’s just a lot of darkness and negativity... so I really wanted a project that you can play with your family,' Fyütch explained. Tracks promote love and fun, suitable for all ages. Earlier recognition came when the title track won American Songwriter’s Song Contest in the Children’s Music category in June.
Looking Ahead
The duo anticipates the Grammy ceremony on February 2, 2025, airing on CBS and Paramount+. Aura is thrilled about potentially meeting Taylor Swift and winning her first trophy. Fyütch stressed that awards aside, Harmony has transformed their careers and brought fun. 'Awards don’t define the impact that the album has had,' he noted.
