Government carries out sixth expulsion flight with 45 Colombian and Dominican migrants

The Chilean government carried out its sixth expulsion flight of 2026 on Friday, sending 45 foreign citizens back to Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

On Friday the government carried out the operation on a FACH plane. Of those expelled, 37 were Colombian and 8 Dominican. Thirty-six entered through unauthorized crossings, while others had records for drug trafficking and sexual abuse.

National Director of Migration Frank Sauerbaum noted that the total number of expulsions in 2026 reaches 1,102 people. Interior Undersecretary Máximo Pavez stated that this total exceeds the annual expulsions of 2022 and 2023.

PDI Subprefect Rodrigo Castro explained that most corresponded to administrative resolutions. Authorities also highlighted a 35.5% drop in entries through unauthorized crossings between January and May 2026 compared to the previous year.
