Tumult ensued as pyrotechnics were thrown, a corner flag was tossed, and the artificial turf caught fire. Two supporters reached a goalkeeper before security personnel and police intervened and drove them away. Security staff believed they had the situation under control, but the scenes highlighted safety shortcomings in cup matches.
The second half saw calmer stands. Nahir Besara, who left ÖSK for Hammarby ahead of the 2022 season, scored three goals and provided one assist in his return to Örebro. He refused to celebrate the goals out of respect for his former fans. “It’s out of respect for my old home supporters who supported and loved me, he says in the studio after the match.” Ahmed Yasin, back on the pitch for ÖSK, could not stop Besara. “He is a class player.
