Harry Kane recalls surreal golf outing with Donald Trump

England captain Harry Kane has described playing golf with US President Donald Trump as a surreal experience ahead of the team's World Cup quarter-final against Norway.

Kane, who captains England at the 2026 tournament, revealed he received an invitation from Trump around 18 months ago while in Palm Beach, Florida. He accepted the offer and later praised Trump's skill on the course.

"It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him," Kane said. "His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as good as him when I'm his age."

Trump, 80, confirmed the outing after England's 3-2 last-16 win over Mexico and called Kane both a great player and a good golfer. The England captain is set to lead his side in Miami on Saturday.
