Huila Chamber of Commerce opens 59th National Artisan Fair in Pitalito

The Huila Chamber of Commerce officially opened the 59th edition of the National Artisan Fair in Pitalito, an event celebrating regional tradition, art, and culture. The fair establishes itself as one of the department's most important gatherings, showcasing the talent of local and national artisans.

The opening ceremony of the Pitalito National Artisan Fair marked the start of a cultural and economic agenda promoting regional development. Organized by the Huila Chamber of Commerce, this 59th edition brings together artisans from across the country, establishing itself as a key space for exchanging traditions and boosting the local economy.

Key attendees included Darío Fernando Cuéllar, Huila's Secretary of Economic Development; Yaneth Sofía Ortiz, acting mayor of Pitalito; and Paula Andrea Torres, director of the Institute of Recreation and Sports. Also present were César Torres, acting director of the Pitalito Section of the Huila Chamber of Commerce; María Antonia Estupiñán and Madelen Muñoz Escalante, executives of the organization; Ismael Efrén Benavides, coordinator of the Usco Pitalito Campus; and Luis Ernesto Ramírez, director of UAD CCAV Pitalito.

Other participants featured José Ricardo Cruz, director of the Pitalito Penitentiary Center; Patricia Saavedra, training director of SENA CDSS; Adriana Marcela Coronado, professional from Artesanías de Colombia; Lina Paola Barrera, deputy director of the Pitalito Penitentiary Center; and Martha C. Restrepo, Municipal Security Advisor. The event, held on November 16, 2025, highlights the commitment to cultural preservation and support for Huila's artisans.
